About Me and Affiliate Marketing

Hello my name is Allan Bruce and thanks for visiting my blog and I hope you find it interesting.

Here is a little about me so that you know I am a real person.

I am 66 years of age, was born and brought up in Aberdeen, Scotland. Married with 2 grown up children and 4 wonderful grandchildren. Who I don’t see enough of as they grow up so quickly.

I left school at the age of 15 years to attend Aberdeen Technical College for one year then entered the Engineering Industry where I have spent all my working life mostly in the repair and maintenance side. For nearly 40 years now that work has been inside the Oil Industry which has taken me to many different countries throughout the world and I have met some great people.

As you see by my age I should be retired and taking it easy but a few years back I made some bad investments that almost wiped me out. As I have been lucky with my health and am still very fit and active so decided to carry on for another few years to help rebuild a bit, to hopefully enjoy a good retirement in a couple of years without having to worry about skimping on things and worrying if there is enough to pay the bills.

Also over the past 5 years I have also been trying to start-up an online business in Affiliate Marketing, hoping that will give me a good backing with some money coming in to get me to retirement earlier. But so far I have not had much luck. Simply because there is a lot of rubbish out there in shiny objects and no get rich quick schemes as promised. So a lot of money and time has been wasted.

I still believe there is a good chance of starting up an internet business so continue to look for something that will work properly. I know there are systems out there that do work. People are making money with online Affiliate Marketing. I am not looking to make a huge fortune just a bit of extra money to be able to enjoy my retirement and do the things I want to without any restraints.

I have been in and around a system called, “Internet Profits” for the past year, which is owned and run by a guy called Dean Holland and I believe he can be my mentor as I go forward. I have made a few dollars with his system but probably haven’t put enough work into it for it to work better for me. Part of that is due to my present work which has taken up such a big part of my life the past year or so.

I have renewed my interest and enrolled myself in a program run by Dean Holland called Quick Start Challenge to get going again. Part of this process is to start-up my own blog about Affiliate Marketing which this is now.

This is very poignant now as the security of my full-time job is coming under pressure as the Oil Industry is still making cut backs to improve profitability.
